The US National Whitewater Center is the largest man-made whitewater river in the world. This Charlotte attraction offers 30+  land and water-based activities. You can find outdoor instruction and certification programs, festivals, races, films, as well as a selection of outdoor events throughout the year. Adventures take place both on-site and off-site for all ages and skill levels.

Outdoor Activities include whitewater rafting and kayaking, flatwater kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Do you love the thrill of heights?! The rock climbing, zip lines, ropes courses, and canopy tour may be what you are looking for! If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground there is a 40+ mile trail system for mountain biking.

If you have a love for the rapids there are several whitewater rafting options from class II-IV rapids throughout multiple channels for the novice to the advanced level skillset. Package options include Adventure Rapids and Family Rafting. At select times, you can sign up for the Rodeo Rapids advanced level package the day of your visit for an upgrade fee.

Enjoy live music and outdoor festivals. The River Jam concert series takes place from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, May through September. Take part in the  River Jam Run and Open Swin Thursday’s at 6:30 pm. In addition to the River Jam festivities, there are 9 other festivals held throughout the year.
