Shiny objects tend to distract all of us from time to time, and some of the most expensive shiny objects you’ll come across are model homes. They’re full of beautiful floors, finishes, and boast incredible features. I often find myself taking pictures of things I see in these homes to inspire my own home renovations.

That said, if you walk through the door of a model home without a buyer’s agent, they will not allow you to have representation going forward. You’ll be all on your own, trying to deal with someone who is trained to negotiate on the builder’s behalf. You won’t know the ins and outs of the contracts, what you can and can’t ask for, and a number of important details that are key to getting a good deal.

Having an expert on your side is invaluable.

As a real estate professional, I’m an expert at guiding new buyers through that process—I do it almost every day. If you’re thinking of buying a new home, I strongly encourage you to reach out to an agent to discuss your options. It’s so critical to ensuring a smooth transaction where you won’t be taken advantage of.

If you have any questions for me about buying brand-new homes or real estate in general, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you.
